Yes, we have a new day coming on January 20.
In some ways I do feel I will be better off this time next year. On one hand, as a small business owner with a business still in it's infancy, I expect great things wih the election of a new President who is of and for the people. Though my in-home tutoring service is not glamorous, it does meet a great need in my community. And even in tough economic times, people will invest in their children -- specifically in their children's education. Things have gone well this first year of business. And with President Obama focusing much of his time and energy on education, I expect things to get even better next year. I also feel the tax breaks for small businesses will allow me to spend more money advertising my services, which will net me more income in the end. I am concernced about the state of the financial industry, as my husband works for the latest bank to benefit from the "rescue package." His employer recently announced their plan to cut 50,000 jobs. This scares us to death. We have no guarantee that his job won't be one of the 50,00. And so we press on each day, praying for the strength to hold on and the intelligence to make sound financial decisions until our economy rights itself again.
Yes, I feel that we will be financially better next year this time. Just to piggyback on Cherie's comment, I agree that we have a new day coming and in a sense it has already began. The year of "2008" is the year of new beginnings. New change, New prosperity, New relationships, New leadership(s).......I just sense that there is going to be such a newness and I am just crazy enough to believe that the year of "2009" and the next seven years to follow will be a year of harvest, especially for the born-again believers.
I agree with all of you. I believe that Obama is right man for this time at hand
